Psychiatric Price Guide
For the attention of psychiatrists practicing in France, this document aims to clarify the tariff structure applicable from 1 November 2024 for various medical procedures. Whether you operate in sector 1 with OPTAM membership, in sector 2 without overpaying fees or in sector 2 with overpaid fees, this guide is designed to help you assess your actions with full knowledge of the facts.
Basic consultation: The CNPSY is the basic act, corresponding to any consultation, regardless of its duration or content. In sector 1/OPTAM and in sector 2 without exceeding the limit, the rate is fixed at €42.50.
Increases: Acts may include surcharges such as the MCS for the coordination of care and the MPC for medical specialization, with specific conditions of accumulation and applicability depending on the sector of practice.
Teleconsultation: Specific rates are provided for remote consultations. It is important to note that telephone consultations without video are not reimbursed, while those with video are rated differently depending on the sector.
Emergencies and occasional advisories: Urgent consultations requested within two working days are billed at a separate rate, and specific instructions concern the writing of letters back to the attending physician.
Paediatrics: Specific increases apply for child care and family consultations, with rates for annual summary consultations for serious pathologies.
Specialized Assessments: The use of rating scales, as for depression, is limited to annual use, with some exceptions.
Fee overruns: In sector 2, overruns are at the discretion of the psychiatrist and must be exercised “with tact and measure”, in accordance with Health Insurance guidelines.
This chart is a practical tool to ensure that your quotes are in accordance with the latest agreements and to facilitate transparent communication with your patients about potential fees and reimbursements. Remember to take into account the coordinated care path of your patients, as this influences the reimbursement rate for Health Insurance.
